Legacy Resource Management Program


Inclusion of a Legacy project proposal in this tracking system does not denote Department of Defense approval to fund the project. All funding decisions will be provided to project proponents through separate documentation. Project proponents may take no action to in any way alter a previously approved Scope of Work without prior written approval from DoD's Legacy Resource Management Office.

AUTHORITY:  Pub L 104-201 SEC. 2694, Conservation and cultural activities; 10 U.S.C. 113, Secretary of Defense; 10 U.S.C. 3013, Secretary of the Army; 10 U.S.C. 5013, Secretary of the Navy; and 10 U.S.C. 8013, Secretary of the Air Force.
PRINCIPAL PURPOSE(S):  To provide financial assistance to the Department of Defense (DoD) efforts to preserve its natural and cultural heritage. The program assists DoD in protecting and enhancing resources while supporting military readiness. To manage and track progress status of electronically submitted proposals through Military Services review chains before final submission to the DoD Legacy Resource Management Program and allow Legacy Staff and Military Service representatives to track the status of Legacy Funded Projects.
ROUTINE USE(S):  None. The “Blanket Routine Uses” set forth at the beginning of the DoD Compilations of System of Records Notices apply to the system.
DISCLOSURE:  Voluntary. However, failure to provide all the requested information may prevent submittal of proposals for funding consideration and may delay or prevent the receipt of funding awards.
